Peyjal Nigam and Jal Sansthan to conduct inspections

Almora/Dehradun:(Page3 News Network)-Chief Secretary Alok Kumar Jain, while reviewing various development works in Almora, Pithoragarh and Champawat districts on Tuesday at Circuit House asked the officers concerned to expedite utility of budget allocated. He directed District Magistrates to set time frame for expediting the utility of funds. Mr. Jain said that the utility of fund in time was very essential to ensure that the bona fides were benefited from the development works.
Chief Secretary said that the expenditures would be reviewed every month and officers found deficient in it would be stringently dealt with. He said that Engineers of Peyjal Department should maintain coordination with gram pradhans and activate peyjal committees. He expressed his dissatisfaction over officers for not visiting the villagers and not keeping themselves updated with the ongoing development works. He asked the officers of Peyjal Nigam and Jal Sansthan to conduct inspections on the spot and ensure speedy works. He directed the officers of Irrigation Department to complete the beautification works of Baijnath Lake at Bageshwar.
Chief Secretary Jain, reviewing the works of Pithoragarh district directed the officers to expedite construction works of base hospital, beautification of Chandak area and extension work of Naini Saini Airport. He instructed the officers to prepare action plan of paragliding project.
Reviewing the works of Champawat District, Mr. Jain asked the officers to complete treatment works of Purnagiri Temple hill and Tanakpur-Jouljivi Road.
Mr. Jain directed the officers to start construction works of Kosi Barrage at Almora, spend fund of District Deposit Limit and expedite peyjal project works.
It may be noted that Chief Minister Vijay Bahuguna will hold review meeting of all the districts on Wednesday. During the meeting, Principal Secretaries Rakesh Sharma, S Raju, S Ramaswami, Secretaries Vinod Fonia, SS Sandhu, Umakant Panwar, Commissioner Hemlata Dhaundiyal and Additional Secretary Arvind Hayanki reviewed the works of their respective departments and issued essential instructions to the subordinate officers.
