Sonepat, April 15 (IANS) Hosts Haryana defeated Chandigarh 3-1 in the final of third Hockey India Sub-Junior Women's National Championship (North Zone) played here Monday.
Haryana, who led 2-0 at half-time, scored through Udita in the 14th and 24th minute. Chandigarh reduced the margin through Anjali in the 50th minute but Navpreet Kaur scored field goal for Haryana in the 61st minute to register a 3-1 win over Chandigarh.
Haryana’s Navneet Kaur scored the maximum number of goals (9) in the championship.
Final result: Haryana 3 (Udita 14, 24, and Navpreet Kaur 61) beat Chandigarh 1 (Anjali 50).
