IITF will be open for public from tomorrow to Nov 27


New Delhi:(Page3 News Network)-The ongoing India International Trade Fair, IITF, will open for general public from tomorrow to 27th of this month between 09:30 am to 07:30 pm at Pragati Maidan in the National capital. Talking to the reporters in New Delhi, India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO), Chairperson Rita Menon said, elaborate security arrangements have been made. She said nearly three thousand police personnel have been deployed at Pragati Maidan. Ms Menon said that armed police force will have patrolling on daily basis to avoid any untoward incident.
Replying to a query, Ms Menon said, as per the capacity of Pragati Maidan, ITPO will stop selling of tickets after one lakh per day. She informed that ample parking facilities and ride buses will be provided to the visitors.
Meanwhile the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) will hold live demonstrations on earthquake and chemical disaster management techniques at the ongoing IITF. As per the NDMA, it has invited school children, as the demonstrations would be of great educational value to them and will also help in sensitizing the younger generation to these disasters. The NDMA has also sought participation of visitors, especially youngsters, in the demonstrations so as to raise their awareness on various disaster management issues and help them gain confidence in handling emergencies.
Timings for sale of tickets and visitor passes will be 9.30 am to 5 pm on weekdays and 9.30 am to 1 pm on Saturday and Sunday. Entry for senior citizens and physically challenged will be completely free in the fair. The rates of the tickets for adults are 50 rupees on working days and 80 rupees on weekends while for children it will cost 30 rupees and 50 on Saturday and Sunday. Visitors can purchase tickets from more than 20 metro stations including Rajiv Chowk, Vaishali, Huda City Centre, Central secretariat among others.
