Dalit colony in Andhra renamed after Myanmar leader Suu Kyi
Ananthapur:(Page3 News Network)-A Dalit Colony in a remote village of Papasanipalli in Ananthapur district of Andhra Pradesh has been named after the visiting Myanmar democracy leader Aung San Suu Kyi to mark her visit. The Nobel laureate has visited the tiny village yesterday to examine the implementation of the Rural Development programmes at grass roots level. Interacting with the workers under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme at Govindapuram Village, Suu Kyi said people are more powerful than governments. She stressed the need for achieving greater empowerment of people particularly with women emancipation.
